Congratulations to our clients: Burger Bodega and Hamsa for making this year’s list.
BURGER BODEGA
After a year of pop-ups, Houston food influencer Abbas Dhanani finally opened Burger Bodega, his brick and mortar dedicated to smashburgers, in November. The entire space is outfitted to look like a New York City bodega, and is housed in a former 1930s-era fire station on Washington Avenue. Lines are already spilling out the door for the juicy smashburgers and fries, which come regular, screwed or bodega.
HAMSA
Houston’s food scene has pretty much everything, but what it did lack until recently was fine Israeli cuisine. Enter Hamsa, which opened in the Rice Village in May, from the Sof Hospitality team (Doris Metropolitan, Badolina Bakery). Start with the delightful salatim, then share the signature skewers served on swords, and don’t forget to order a drink from the creative cocktail list.
