Ben Berg, the owner behind multiple Houston restaurants including B&B Butchers and the Annie, is expanding his presence with a new European bistro downtown.
The Sylvie sits on the first floor of the 47-story Texas Tower, a short walk from Enterprise Plaza, where Berg recently opened BB Lemon and aquired Real Agave. In a spherical space, the bistro will serve French and European-inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The restaurant’s details tie into the name “Sylvie,” which is a derivative of the Latin word for forest. A lit-up, tree-like sculpture sits in the middle of the 3,267-square-foot restaurant. The space features dark mauve marble flooring, stone countertops and brushed bronze fixtures. The dining room and bar can seat 85.
